Oriental Medicine - Integrated Massage Therapy Program
The Oriental Medicine Massage Program is a unique and comprehensive training program designed to prepare students for a professional career in massage therapy while integrating the wisdom of traditional Oriental medicine with modern Western bodywork science. This program combines foundational medical knowledge, hands-on massage techniques, clinical modalities, ethics, business training, and Oriental medicine therapies into one well-rounded curriculum. Students begin by building a strong academic foundation in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology, allowing them to understand the structure and function of the human body. From there, they develop core massage skills through foundational training in massage principles, therapeutic techniques, client care, and professional practice. What makes this program distinctive is its integration of Oriental medicine concepts and therapies. In addition to modern massage education, students are introduced to Chinese medicine foundations and hands-on modalities such as acupressure, cupping therapy, gua sha, and related traditional approaches. This blended model helps students expand their therapeutic understanding and offer clients a broader range of natural healing methods. The program also includes training in a variety of clinical massage modalities, such as chair massage, reflexology, prenatal massage, sports massage, lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, shiatsu, and more. Business, ethics, and compliance courses help students prepare for real-world professional practice, while clinical practicum gives students supervised hands-on experience in working with clients.
